Construction of a new recreational park and public library serving the Nocatee community is scheduled to begin this year. St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners unanimously authorized a $43 million plan for the new Northeast Community Park in Nocatee. Among the features that will make up the park are fields for baseball, softball, soccer, and multipurpose uses. There will also be pickleball and sand volleyball courts, splash pads, a climbing wall and play areas, picnic pavilions, paved walking paths, and a fishing pond and kayak dock.

Also included in the overall plan is the construction of a full-service public library branch to serve the needs of the community’s 32,000 residents. Construction of the projects is expected to begin in 2024 and be completed by the end of 2026.

In addition, the PARC Group, master developer of Nocatee, announced the new Marketplace at Nocatee shopping center, which will be located off Valley Ridge Boulevard on the west side of Nocatee’s Town Center. The new shopping center will include a grocery store, restaurants, office space and more.

Serving as the anchor of the new shopping center will be Publix Supermarket, making use of 48,000 square-feet of the shopping center’s initial 64,000 square feet development. Publix Liquors and a pharmacy drive-thru will also be a part of the popular grocery chain. Construction is set to start in 2025 and finish in 2027.
