HGTV Announces 2024 Dream Home Location

The famous home and garden channel HGTV sponsors a sweepstakes to give away a luxurious dream home to one lucky winner every year. The channel recently announced the location of the HGTV 2024 Dream Home. This year’s home was built near St Augustine on Anastasia Island, Florida.

Anastasia Island is along Florida’s Atlantic coast, 10 minutes from St. Augustine and less than an hour from Jacksonville. An abundance of history and nature are present on this 14-mile-long island. Fort Matanzas National Monument at the southern end of the island holds the site of a Spanish fort dating from 1740-1742. Famous explorer Juan Ponce de Leon may have landed on the island in 1513. At its northern end, the island has a lighthouse dating from the 1870s. Natural areas on the island are preserved in the 1,600-acre Anastasia State Park.

The HGTV 2024 Dream Home is a stunning two-story coastal home designed for indoor/outdoor living. The open living room has a wall of glass sliders that open to a screened porch overlooking the pool and surrounding natural areas. A sleek modern fireplace is flanked by built-in storage.  Skylights bring abundant natural light to the kitchen. The main living areas are finished in muted blue, gray, and white coastal shades. More skylights highlight the luxurious first-floor main bedroom suite with a soaking tub, double shower, and two vanities.

Two separate sections make up the second floor of the Dream Home. The main section has a central loft area flanked by two guest suites with full baths. The other second-floor section is a versatile flex space above the garage.

This home’s extensive exterior spaces are just as gorgeous as the interiors. To maximize views, the second story has a “sunset porch” at the back of the house and a “lighthouse porch” at the front. A patio with an outdoor kitchen flanks the landscaped pool area. A pergola provides a semi-shaded seating area overlooking the natural landscape. At the front of the home, terraced pavers create an elegant entry courtyard.
