New Elementary/Middle School Coming to Nocatee

One of the most important elements that parents or parents-to-be consider when looking at purchasing a new home is the school district and the specific schools their children will attend. Parents want the best for their children to give them a solid start in life, which includes a strong education. Considering the high quality of living at Nocatee in Ponte Vedra, FL, it will come as no surprise that the St. Johns County Schools are highly regarded. Now, starting with the 2018/2019 school year, a new elementary/middle school will be opening to serve many of the Nocatee children.

The unnamed K-8 school will be the third school site donated to the St. Johns County School District by The PARC Group, Nocatee’s developer. With Nocatee continuing to grow, this brand new school was built to stay ahead of the demand and avoid overcrowding as more people moving into the various neighborhoods in Nocatee.

With Nocatee one of the fastest-growing areas in America, and St. Johns County drawing more people in thanks to their A-rated schools, the school district understands the need to ensure that quality remains high. This is just the latest in new schools being built, with plans for more in the future. The school complex, located off Palm Valley Road, will be able to hold 1,400 students when it is completed.

In the first year, the school will serve K-6, expand to K-7 the following year, finally reaching the full K-8 within three years. Meanwhile,  Nease High School, which will remain the high school for all St. Johns County Nocatee students, is expanding to hold an additional 600 students.

Both the students and the schools in St. Johns County place extremely well in test scores, evaluations, and awards. In fact, St. Johns is first in the state out of 67 districts in total school accountability points for the past nine years. It is one of only two districts in Florida with an A grade each year since 2010.

With strong rankings and academic results, it’s no surprise that people move to Nocatee just to get their children into the St. Johns County School District. Plus, when you add in the exceptional quality of the Glenn Layton homes at The Hammock at Nocatee in Ponte Vedra, FL, it’s hard to imagine living anywhere else. Nocatee provides the opportunity to live the coastal dream while ensuring children get the kind of education that will help them achieve their own dreams.
