The Captiva lives up to its name with a truly captivating design. With elements of Mediterranean architecture that seamlessly blend indoor and outdoor living, you’ll feel like you’re living in a stunning coastal resort that is all yours. Whether you’re looking to build in a community or build on your lot in Jacksonville FL, we can make that dream come true, and we think the Captiva custom floor plan will make that dream a reality.

One of the appealing features of coastal and Mediterranean architecture is the private courtyard that creates a wonderful openness in a home. Whether you use it for entertaining guests or simply as an area for the family to play or relax, the courtyard is a wonderful addition that also provides privacy for the main body of the home.

The Captiva essentially has two facades that blend beautifully. The first is a combination of the main entrance and the outer wall of the courtyard, which also includes a garden shed and upstairs guest room. From the front entrance, a semi-open arcade leads you along the courtyard or past a bedroom and study in the front of the home, before eventually leading into the main entrance foyer. Here you find the second facade of the home, which includes the entrance foyer and the side porch that wraps around much of the home. This porch overlooks the courtyard, before it continues to the back of the home where it becomes a screened porch that finally ends in an attractive rear covered porch.

All of this gives the home great light, wonderful breezes, and outstanding indoor/outdoor living options, ideal for a variety of furnishings, including swings and chaise longues. Make the most of the covered porches to create living areas with dining tables, comfortable sofas, lots of cushions, side tables, art, lamps and the same kinds of decorative features you’d use indoors. You increase your living space, and create spaces that can perform a variety of purposes to meet the needs of your lifestyle and the seasons. These areas, along with the courtyard, are excellent for entertaining.

As you enter the foyer into the main body of the home, you soon find yourself in the heart of the home in a large family room. The family room looks out onto the covered back porch and is also open to the chef-style kitchen that leads out onto the side porch. There’s also a fantastic media room off the family room. Finally, there is the owner’s suite with a spa-like bathroom. Nearby is a large laundry room, as well as a mud room located just off the entry foyer.

This is a three-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom home, and the third bedroom is actually located over the garden shed, making it a great guest suite, in-law suite, or bedroom for an older child. Overall, the home has 2,810 square feet and a design that is sure to impress.
