HGTV Smart Home receives LEED Gold Certification

It isn’t a secret that the HGTV Smart Home has amazing features and technology. But did you also know that the HGTV Smart Home built by Glenn Layton Homes in Paradise Key South Beach, Jacksonville Beach, Florida, is also energy and water efficient, healthy, environmentally friendly, and will save money for operations and maintenance? It is all true … and certified. Glenn Layton Homes received from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC®) a certification of LEED® Gold.

LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. USGBC certified LEED Gold through a third-party verification process that demonstrated how the HGTV Smart Home 2013 complied with a variety of categories, which are:

  3. Energy & Atmosphere
  4. Materials & Resources
  5. Indoor Air Quality
  6. Location & Linkage
