Father’s Day in Jacksonville

If you’re currently exploring your options for new homes in Jacksonville FL, why not make a weekend of it by learning more about the homes we build in Glen Kernan – a top notch private golf course, clubhouse, and community – and then enjoying some of the special Father’s Day festivities taking place in the area.

Father’s Day is June 15, 2025, and Jacksonville is home to a fantastic variety of fun and food to help you celebrate dad, no matter his interests. Indoors and out, you’re sure to find something to do to let your dad know you appreciate him being there for you.

Of course, being in Florida, there’s no shortage of outdoor entertainment options. With more than 20 miles of beaches to enjoy – not to mention great fishing – stock up on sunscreen and cold drinks for a relaxing day by the water. While Glen Kernan is a private course,  there are 20 public golf courses to try, including Queens Harbor and Hidden Hills, so take your golf-loving dad out for a game and maybe let him teach you a thing or two on the green. There are also innumerable parks for relaxing, grilling, hiking, biking, and more, ensuring you’ll find plenty of fun for the outdoors dad in your life.

You can always spend some time outdoors while also picking up some interesting information with a visit to the Jacksonville Zoo & Botanical Gardens, which is sure to entertain the whole family. With more than 2,000 exotic animals and numerous plant species, you can explore the Land of the Tiger and the Range of Jaguar. Plus, there are opportunities to learn from the zoo keepers and even feed some of the animals, not to mention the opportunity to see a giraffe face to face!

If dad likes a good cider, take a farm tour of Congaree and Penn where they grow North Florida’s indigenous fruit to blend with hard apple cider for a cider that is uniquely Southern and delicious. If your dad prefers ale, head out along the Jax Ale Trail where you can try some of the craft beers from the more than 25 local breweries.

You’ll find some food along the way of the Jax Ale Trail, but for a more relaxed celebration, why not visit one of the 25 restaurants offering Father’s Day brunch. If your dad loves a good steak, take him to Chophouse, a locally owned steakhouse, where you can also enjoy cocktails and a view on the rooftop.

There’s something for every dad in Jacksonville to enjoy this Father’s Day. There’s also plenty for the whole family to love about the new homes in Jacksonville FL at Glen Kernan, so contact us today to learn more about this exclusive golf community and the stunning custom coastal homes we build.
